Pilot Projects 2018

We’ve awarded funding to our second round of Pilot Projects. This fund will reopen in March 2019, subject to funding and any changes.

Support for projects will be considered up to £5,000, from a total fund of £20,000. NB If you are looking for support up to £200 please see our Pitch Pots programme.

If you would like to apply, please read the guidelines and send us the proposal form

The following are key priorities for Film Hub Scotland, and the BFI Film Audience Network. Projects which address one or more of these priority areas will be prioritised.

  • Diversity*, Inclusion and Access: specialised and independent film covers a broad range of themes and stories but certain groups remain under-provided for or excluded both through representation on screen and in the audience.
  • Young People (15 - 30 year olds): the audience for specialised film skews older and therefore we would like to support projects that are keen to increase attendance and engagement with young people aged 15-30 (excluding school screenings).
  • Screen Heritage: the screening of archive film is essential for audiences to understand and appreciate their screen heritage, so we're looking to support projects that present archive and classic material to audiences in new contexts.

*Film Hub Scotland is committed to the BFI’s Diversity Standards, recognising and acknowledging the quality and value of difference and working towards reducing under-representation in the following focus areas: disability, gender, race, age and sexual orientation as they pertain to the Equality Act 2010, as well as seeking to ensure that people from lower socio-economic groups are better represented.
