Local Film Festivals Open Access Fund

Regional Screen Scotland manages a fund for local film festivals in Scotland with two calls a year, for funding up to £3,000 per festival.

The aim of the Local Film Festivals Open Access Fund is to acknowledge and support the role that festivals play in the the regional areas of Scotland in enhancing the cinema-going experience for audiences where there are varying levels of provision, both in terms of the films people can see and the places they can see them. Film festivals also attract and appeal to a wide ranging audience and encourage a year-round activity of cinema-going.

This is the second of three years of funding being made available for film festivals in regional areas of Scotland on an annual basis. Awards are up to £3000 per festival for events taking place between November 2015 and May 2016.

The Open Access Fund is now open for applications and the deadline is 22 October 2015. Please visit Regional Screen Scotland's website for more information and to apply.

There will be another call for applications in Spring 2016 for festivals and events taking place from June 2016.
