Amplify is structured as a multi-year programme of development for mid-scale exhibitors with the aim of significantly growing audiences for cultural cinema.
Key elements of the programme include:
The ambition is to bring together a cohort of mid-scale exhibitors to strategically increase their capacity, skills, confidence and resources with the ultimate aim of growing and enhancing their programme and engaging a broad and diverse audience.
Additional to this Film Hub Scotland will work both individually with each participant and collectively with the cohort to build connections, share knowledge and experiences, develop new opportunities and initiatives, and provide peer-to-peer support.
The programme is multi-year and will be led by Film Hub Scotland but with significant co-development with the selected venues to ensure the programme meets the unique context of each participant. It is anticipated the first few months of the programme will be dedicated to working with the participants to identify key areas of activity, agreeing goals and creating an individual development plan.
We hope to create a process where participants have ownership over a plan; one that provides meaningful outcomes and tangible benefits but which, through light-touch monitoring and an adaptable context, grows and develops along with the organisation.
The programme also includes limited financial support and how each participant (and the cohort) will use this will be agreed in the development phase.
WHO CAN APPLY
We are looking for a cohort of full-time venues who have a track record of screening a varied cultural programme of cinema and reaching a diverse audience to take part in the programme, but who might feel they aren't able to reach their full potential and are constrained in their ambitions and reach due to a lack of time, capacity or resources.
This programme is aimed at those organisations who may have only one or two dedicated cinema professionals covering many key roles.
Participant selection will be based on their current audience reach, organisational capacity, current geographic location, potential for growth and commitment to development.
HOW TO APPLY
We very conscious that time and capacity are two key barriers to development and therefore, at this stage, we are looking for expressions of interest.
