Come along to this free interactive event to find out about exciting new arts project Sensing Place, and learn how to use archive film screenings and storytelling to engage your local community.
Sensing Place will bring together both oral and cinematic storytelling techniques through a series of community workshops and screening events across East Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway, and the Scottish Borders from August to October 2016. The project will use archive film and storytelling as powerful mediums for exploring the places we live, enabling us to share collective memories and ideas.
This workshop is a chance to hear more about the Sensing Place project and how to get involved. Shona Thomson, film event curator and producer, and Jean Edmiston, professional storyteller and writer, will explain how to use a combination of archive screenings and storytelling to enable participation and engage a wider audience. You'll also get to hear about Film Hub Scotland opportunities and to meet other people with a passion for cinema and stories for potential future collaboration.
